Colleen Frey (left in picture) Big Sky Bright Light Educator pictured with St. Ignatius Elementary Principal Chantell Moore. Colleen is being honored with the Big Sky, Bright Light Award!
Growing up in the Mission Valley has given this educator an understanding of the needs of the community, the people, the culture, and most importantly, the children. She is attuned to the diversity of the area and what that can mean to young minds. One size does not fit all and she knows what that means in the classroom. Following her mother’s footsteps in education, this outstanding teacher has been positively impacting the lives of others for three decades. In the classroom, she models a positive and supportive style that is encouraging to every child. Whatever the topic or curriculum need, she is on top of it. Her energy and dedication have touched the lives of hundreds of people. Throughout her long career she has been a mentor to others and a champion for the underdog. Colleen Frey is a truly wonderful educator and deserving of a Big Sky, Bright Lights Award.

No SCHOOL for students Monday Jan 23

Big announcement out of the high school. Mr. Oakland has started Trading Card Kids, a program where student-athletes who have chosen a drug and alcohol free lifestyle, work to promote those ideals with the younger grades in our district. These students will be presenting to an elementary near you. Students will also receive Mission Bulldog student-athlete trading cards, have the opportunity to get them autographed, and be able to hang and talk with these fine students. We’re excited to get this going and look forward to working with the younger students in Mission. #bulldogpride

Congratulations Zoran LaFrombois on winning 406 Sports athlete of Month in December!

Join us in remembering and celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Our 5th grade attending a virtual field trip provided by the Missoula Art Museum. They get to interact with a local artist and even participate in a lesson.

Parents/Guardians: As we finish out the first half of our year, we ask that you read these attendance statistics. As a district our student attendance rates are as low as they’ve ever been. Recovering from an absence is tough, and can create anxiety, stress, and be frustrating for students. We hope that we can all make a plan to increase attendance.

St. Ignatius Elementary Medical Emergency Update: Today we had a Medical Emergency in the St. Ignatius Elementary and an ambulance was called to the school. We are happy to report the situation was handled quickly, professionally and the response of the medical staff here at school and the local ambulance crew should all be commended. There is no reason for alarm or panic at this time.
