Camas Bake at Vanderburg Camp Saturday 9/28 — Mission students participated in an annual camas bake where they learned about the baking process, listened to words from Elders in English and Salish, and ate with people from our community.
Our middle school girls helped dig the baked camas out of the ground and then they filled up the pit along with one of our high schoolers. It was a wonderful time and the Elders had good things to say about our youth! Huge thanks to Ms. Clairmont for bringing our students and opening this opportunity up to all of our students.
